Pop/R&B/Soul Mega-Talent LaDeana Michelle Announces New Vegan Lifestyle and New Summer Dance Single
Wednesday, 22 June 2011
Pop/R&B/Soul sensation LaDeana Michelle has announced her transition into a full vegan lifestyle and is set to release a new mainstream single, “Like It’s Your Birthday” impacting radio worldwide, June 29, 2011.
Already a vegetarian for over 10 years, LaDeana Michelle recently shed 21 pounds after completing The Master Cleanse (Stanley Burroughs, 1976) which she contributes to her ultimate push into full veganism. Donning a new, natural signature hairstyle of exotic, black, waist-length braids, LaDeana Michelle is also completing a new book for 2012 and editing its accompanying film, for 2014. She is additionally in talks for partnering in further film production and is set to launch a boutique store, which will ultimately spawn lines for clothing, shoes, handbags, fragrances, cosmetics and more.
“Like It’s Your Birthday” is LaDeana Michelle’s first summer release and is not her usual slow groove. In fact, the track is a fast, mainstream “feel-good” party groove early critics are hailing, “The potential 2011 smash of the summer” and can be previewed at the all-new ladeanamichelle.com.
LaDeana Michelle is still reeling from her previous 2011 release, “Glaze”, which was praised by listeners and critics as reminiscent of the timeless jams Soul crooners R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, The Isley Brothers, H-Town, Silk (Freak Me) and Jodeci (Cry For You) were most notable for, is still currently in regular rotation on radio stations in the U.S., U.K. and Germany.
“Glaze” was a part of LaDeana Michelle’s rapidly-growing “Love Quarter” campaign (January 1st-March 31st) set to run every first quarter for the next nine years. The campaign, which encompasses her notable slogan, “Changing Lives One Day at a Time”, promotes love, social awareness, unity and change through music and visual arts. The release boasts three tracks written, produced and composed by the multi-faceted artist, entitled “Deejay”,“How Did I Get Here?” and “Who”—all of which were praised by early listeners and critics as reminiscent of the timeless slow jams Soul crooners R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, The Isley Brothers, H-Town, Silk (Freak Me) and Jodeci (Cry For You) were most notable for.
LaDeana Michelle has been often branded as a “slow-song” artist because of the slower nature of many of her previous releases. “Like It’s Your Birthday”will offer proof that she is not only diverse in style as a vocalist, but also as a producer, songwriter, arranger and composer.
LaDeana Michelle “unofficially” hit the ground running three years ago, with the grassroots spread of her positive-natured songs, "Keep Your Faith"(the official “Barack Obama Inauguration song) and “Believe”, honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and President Obama, which was featured in The Urban Music Scene online magazine, a rapidly-growing publication that hosts top R&B, Gospel and Jazz, with artists Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Brian McKnight, Eric Benet, Charlie Wilson and more in tow. LaDeana Michelle’s “Believe” reportedly received the most hits ever recorded by the magazine in its history. Also notable, was her impressive “Rare” memorial tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson and video installment entitled, “SEVEN”, which featured seven of her self-produced songs and explored widespread issues such as love/relationships, racism, the homeless, genocide, starvation and more.
"Inside Love’s Window" included romantic ballads, “I Can’t” and “More Than Friends”, which ranked #1 in two top ten R&B and Urban charts and placed LaDeana Michelle as a top 25 artist overall on SoundClick, a music-based, social community that reports over 4 million songs, 491,000 bands and artists, and 4 million registered members. Her digital package, "Bringing Love Back", which featured the hit singles, “Long Night”, “My Honey” and "Just Ask", is still being requested for radio worldwide, with the “Long Night” video still gaining favor within the YouTube community.
Her debut album is also set to launch this year, along with several strong album singles – all with confirmed release dates. She graces the cover this month, with an exclusive interview,“One-On-One With LaDeana Michelle”in SayWhatNews , an online entertainment magazine featuring top film, indie, celebrity, music and fashion news from around the world.
LaDeana Michelle will support various vegan/vegetarian organizations, including PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). She will also launch a website promoting her new lifestyle, with a blog accessible through LaDeanaMichelle.net and her Facebook, Myspace (launching in July) Twitter and SoundClick sites, encouraging fans to share their thoughts and comments, get questions answered and to write their own stories.
