With our ongoing announcements of great musicians slated to play our birthday party on Friday Jul 15, we thought putting together a collective was a good idea – so we have created a little something called The Brisband Experience. It’s a cavalcade of Brisbane musicians performing some of the city’s musical hits, featuring two drummers in Steve Pope (Kate Miller-Heidke, Transport) and Tony Garrett (The Boat People), Ben Dalton (Hungry Kids of Hungary) on bass, dual guitarists Thomas Murphy (The Bloodpoets) and Caleb James (Rhubarb), while vocal duties fall on the girl-boy harmonies of Katie Noonan (pictured, George, Elixir) and Dan James (Drawn From Bees). There will of course be ‘friends’ joining in on the night, but we really can’t say who – it will spoil the surprise! Tickets are $20+bf on sale Tuesday Jun 28 from OzTix, but we’ll be giving away 125 double passes via www.ravemagazine.com.au on Tuesday. Excited?
