Chris Martin, Lou Reed and the champagne Supanova 

Are Metallica testing their fans with their latest collaboration, or is Lou Reed checking whether he actually still has fans? Plus the new Coldplay album goes under the microscope and the gang prepares for another dose of Supanova.

Some big name releases have come across our laps in the last week. Coldplay’s fifth album and the teaming of Lou Reed and Metallica are highly anticipated, but for very different reasons.

The crew just can’t get enough of Hitchcock, Rihanna once again at the centre of controversy and Hunter S Thompson’s rum-soaked diary finally hitting the big screen. Plenty more good stuff coming from this week’s AV&A.

And the gang couldn’t get much nerdier as they look upon the Supernova Sci Fi expo and its imminent return. They fondly recall earlier experiences and have some handy hints for this time around. Don’t eat the brown licorice – It’s not poison, it’s just not very good.
