KILLER BEES MAKE MUSIC PDF Print E-mail

"My hair naturally curls together in a ringlet like a pig's tail. I once ate a pig’s tail." This is the disarming openness of half-Tongan lead singer and guitarist Sarah Paletu'a. Her lyrical, pure tones have a way of freeing the listener from their troubles,

aided by the easy going grooves of twins, Max Wakefield on guitars and Reuben Wakefield on bass. The result is a bubbling, delicious melting pot of fresh pop/country/folk sounds.

Melbourne band, “SARAH & THE KING BEES” are due to release their debut single “DAISY CHAINS”, written by Sarah after her mum's Takamine found its way to her hands at 17. A little gentle persuasion from high school buddies, Reuben and Max to form a band and the group was on it's way. In a little over a year, the young friends had written a swag of tunes and scored a record deal.

Solid touring for much of 2011 has seen the band carve their way from the shores of St Kilda to Tamworth and beyond, also finding the time to finish their single and video clip on the beaches of Byron Bay, NSW.

These Bees are in no danger of becoming extinct any time soon. Watch out for the next “Bee-hopping” announcement...
