Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE, Mt Gravatt will be offering guitar-master classes in 2012 as part of their night-class programme.


The master-classes will be run and taught by local guitar-player Bill Palmer, a Fender/Charvel endorsed guitarist who currently plays with local original rock-act “Arctic,” has written articles for “Guitarist Australia,” has been featured in local publications “Australian Guitar” and “Gold Coast Bulletin.” Palmer was also recently aired on Steve Vai’s “Guitar-TV” live web-streaming site as a featured artist.  


The master-classes are aimed at intermediate guitar players (acoustic and electric) and cover topics such as: standard chords and chord progression for a range of styles, primary scale fingerings, scale positions, non-positional playing, improvising in a range of styles, ear-training and “playing by ear,” developing sight-reading skills and much, much more.
Amplification and leads are provided, students need only bring their guitar.


Each session runs for 90-minutes and students are given handouts of the week’s content with encouragement to practice between sessions.
