This January, don’t miss the amazing opportunity to experience native Canadian performance at its best!  Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre (BEMAC) is proud to present a dynamic troupe perform stunning dance combined with an exhilarating mix of singing and drumming weaving the heart warming and captivating creation stories of the Anishinnabek people at Brisbane Powerhouse Visy Theatre on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th January 2012.
ON a limited trip to perform at the Dreaming festival at Woodford, BEMAC have been able to secure this performance for 2 nights only with limited tickets available.
Narrative story telling is accompanied by beautiful dance and gentle drumming telling of the great mystery, and how the Great Lakes of Canada and the U.S.A. were formed.  The pace steadily picks up as waves of powerful drumming accompany heartfelt and impassioned traditional singing - the likes of which most audiences around the world have never experienced.
Audiences will be held spell bound as enthralling dancers showcase their talents and amazing costumes, sharing the many traditional dancing styles of the Anishinnabek nation. The dancers mesmerize with great skill and vibrant colours amid a pulsing sea of drum rhythms and otherworldly singing which speaks to the very heart and spirit.
Australian audiences have a rare and privileged glimpse into the special traditions and performance magic of these amazing and dynamic artists. Don't miss the Anishinabek 'Northern Lights' on their first ever Australian tour.
