About w&b

wind&brackets are five boys with good looks, knowing smiles and wandering eyes, and in 2007 they are going to show Australia what Brisbane has to offer. With a brilliant stage show and memorable, energetic songs this is the latest band to watch. Don’t think of another hyped-up, 70’s rip-off band… instead think of five Brisbane boys channelling the spirit of The Saints, the lyrics of The Smiths and the music of The Libertines crossed with The Datsuns and you’ve got music which is energetic and universal yet at the same time uniquely Brisbane. You’ve got wind&brackets.

After only playing together for just over a year, they already have a dedicated and growing fan base and acclaimed gigs at The Globe, MUM (Syd), The Rev, The Troubadour, The Zoo and Ric’s Bar under their belt as well as supports with Expatriate, Subaudible Hum, Yves Klein Blue and Bit By Batswind&brackets have been gaining well deserved attention all over Brisbane and the rest of Australia.  With 2007 and a debut EP due mid year, these five young men are ready to pick up their guitars and step onstage with some of the best bands in Australia.

What the press have said:

“… it’s not like we’re watching some local band warming up the crowd  -  the general excitement in the air while wind&brackets are playing is intense. The sounds of New York are an obvious influence, and they pull off a brilliant set with conviction and confidence.”  (Daniel Crichton-Rouse – Timeoff Magazine)

“Five skinny white cool-as-fuck boys deliver danceable indie rock that genuinely gets the kids up, and even the girls giggling. The frontman has his nonchalant rock moves down, both spontaneous and practised, and while the two guitarists fill out their ballooning garage noise well, it’s the rhythm section who impressively hold the whole sound together.”  (Simon Topper – Rave Magazine)

“These guys are a great show, and the good news is they’ll only get tighter with more performance time. They’re a fantastic example of a diverse music scene that’s always surprising.”  (Fasterlouder.com.au)
