Veteran bombastic Aus rockers Rose Tattoo capably open tonight’s flannel and leather extravaganza before an audience largely comprised of conservatively dressed yuppies, rather than the drug addled, alcohol fuelled, outrageously clad, high haired throng that one would picture attending such an extravaganza as this ‘back in the day’. The Tatts unleash a rousing performance of bombastic pub rock, marred only by singer Angry Anderson’s embarrassing between-song banter about ‘love’.
Former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach is up next, ripping out a flooring set that is far and away the highlight of the night (and the year so far on the Brisbane stage, I might add). The man still has all the rock moves of a young Dave Lee Roth, the Skid Row elements of the set list are to die for and most of the new songs are every bit as good as the Skid Row songs they sit alongside, with a cover of Blue Oyster Cult’s Godzilla really providing the iron cherry on the heavy metal cake. as a matter of fact,the new band is comprised of some of the top instrumentalists in the world today and easily outplay the original members of the band.No name?,second rate?,Tommy stinson from "the replacements",robin finck from nine inch nails,world class fusion/rock virtuouso ron thal,session musician and member of love spit love frank ferrer.Im sorry that these guys dont match the dizzying virtuosity of the usual no-talent shit bag bands your used to fellating in these articles like "the strokes" or "fallout boy".These guys can actually play their instruments,i know that this is a sin these days.I was at both of the concerts and mr.rose sounded absolutely fantastic.By the way,the new songs rock.And by the way,get some balls,who cares that he wasted 45 minutes of your precious time waiting for the show to start,this is guns n roses not fucking kate miller heidke.You should have stayed at home so you could have gotten to bed by 9.30pm.. |

who ever wrote this review is a dickhead. i saw these guys play in sydney so i cant vouch for the briz show but they were frigin amazing. granted these musicians rnt duff, slash or izzy but they can still play better than anything todays 'modern rock' is crunching out. axl rose sung better than i hav ever heard him and his moves havnt missed a step since the 90's. and i think theres not a single person in the world who would not agree that guns n roses fame lasted not only 15 minutes but more like a world music changing 21yrs, and i think the fact that theyv sold over 20million albums in the USA alone plus still manage to fill 14,000 seats, is testament to the fact that if infact they only hav 15minuts then that 15minuts has been stretched beyond any laws of science or time ever. so in closing i say too you, that perhaps you should turn off your 'radio birdman' albums or what ever the hell it is you listen and take a seat next to 'appetite for destruction' and get a taste of what real music is, music not carefully selected from a garage band library and compiled with the impecability of an old woman and her stamps.  |

I was at the Brisbane show. The songs were great but 45 min wait had most fans pretty pissed off. This wasn't helped by Axl's childish/arrogant behaviour. He obviously didn't want to be there and it showed. I don't care what happened backstage, show some respect for your fans. |

To Travis - you went to both concerts? You must BE one of the band members. After that first night no one in their right minds would have gone back for a second dose!
Also, Shaun Nancarrow fellating bands liks the strokes and fallout boy? Clearly you don't read his reviews too often - metal reviewers tend to hate any shit band and it's fairly safe to say that those bands are included. I think his review came of disappointment on the truly poor show they put on. They were very disappointing, no matter what happened behind the scenes that night, they were very distant on stage and it was obvious that Axl didn't want to be singing, let alone in brisbane.
Also, having been at that gig it *was* truly horrible. Sure Axl can still sing but when an audience is supposed to wait almost an hour for him to finally drag his bloated body onto the stage and watch him have a hissy fit when he gets something thrown on him and then proceed to bore the audience with the occasional good song interspersed with his truly disappointing Chinese Democracy rubbish and those awful solos...well...I think there was a reason that there was a steady stream of people leaving all night.
And yes - people were constantly getting up and leaving. I left at around 1am and there was already a line of cars waiting to leave.
I, like most people, went to that concert to hear some Guns N Roses songs, not to hear boring souless musicians wearing glitter arm bands and try-hard punk clothing belt out boring seemingly endless solos. I don't care if they are from the replacements and one guitarist once played with NIN - who cares? It wasn't trent, it was SOME GUY! They were BORING! No one went there to see them! Maybe you were watching with bated breath for the 'NIN GUY' and 'The REPLACEMENTS GUY' to play their boring solos, but you know what? Talented though they were - they were really fucking boring and were the icing on the cake for me. I left at about the 4th solo and don't regret walking out.
Sebastian was the highlight for me, especially his abrupt dip into Blue Oyster Cult territory! |

I deeply regret not having gone to the show 'coz of all the fabulous debate it engendered. Based on popular voice , it seems that Shaun does indeed speak some truth - though i am hard pressed to believe that Mr Bach was really that good (I'd like to believe it since he was my number one rock-and-roll crush way back in Grade 10.
I must also posit that Madeleine Marx-Bentley is a brilliant music photographer and has done a remarkable job making Sir Rose actually look good! On Ya! |

i did go to both shows to see one of the worlds greatest rock bands play their show.And thats exactly what i got.I had to wait 45 mins for the guns n roses show to start,So what?.It seems to me like you should have stayed home and watched sex in the city so you could have gotten up early to go shopping for a nice new dress.Its a rock show for gods sake,What the hell is wrong with you people..get some fucking balls.Mr. nancarrow said that the band members were \"nobodies\",in point of fact if he had bothered to do some research about who was in the band he would have been presenting us with credible information rather than looking for every excuse to say something bad about the band(which is exactly what he did.By the way,both shows kicked serious ass and the new songs were great.Stay at home next time,pussy. |

Saw Tuesday Night's show...
It sucked...It sucked so much i wish Bill Bailey HAD stalked off stage after being hit by the soft drink cup at the beginning of welcome to the jungle and save me the sad sorry loss from that moment on ..i was AT Eastern Creek when Gunners played IN 1993 so dont you even fucking try and tell me about a 'rock show'.THe new songs sucked and the new 'rent-a-band' fucking STANK (except Tommy Stinson who kicked ASS) |

The Gunners sucked that night. The band members played badly (I don't care who they were - I didn't know them and they were dull.) and Axl was acting like a baby.
I like the gunners and I was actually looking forward to the concert - thus my disappointment.
I'm not going to sit here and try to defend that concert simply because I like the band like TRAVIS is doing. Stop insulting people because they were disappointed in the concert - it was bad that first night in brisbane. Anyone who knows anything about music or plays in a band would have heard how messy they played.

I went to the wednesday night show. I paid for the front section of standing and I do not regret paying for two tickets. I got my moneys worth for sure anyone saying gunners suck without slash is lying. Yes I think slash would have been better than seeing the worlds most glorified tribute band, but it still rocked, the wednesday show had none of axl\'s antics!!! |

Was at the second Sydney show... and in agreement with most comments here... like in 93 at ECR, Sebastian rocked...
Axl on the other hand was, like 93, good, but not great... I like GnR music... love it... but it was like watching a tribute band... disappointing in some way... just not sure what it is... lacked something (and he is a sook... people got the shits with having to wait a long time for him to go on stage)... Rose Tattoo were OK too...
Think the highlight of the night was Bach, and will buy his new album when it comes out... don't think I'll bother with Chinese Democracy, if it ever exists...
Think the music world has moved on... and the only one that seems to have moved with it out of these three acts is Sebastian Bach... |

I was at the Brisbane GNR Concert on Wednesday night and it rocked my world. Axel has still and hot and got it! And the new band lived up to GNR standards - if not better all you fuck wits who are whinging. Can you do better, r u a multi- millionare? I think not so grow up and learn to appreciate these Rock Legends and be thankful that you grew up in an era that was blessed enough to see GUNS N ROSES play live! |

All this controversy!! I saw the band when they first came out in 1988 just after the release of Appetite and they where pretty sloppy and improved over the years. His antics certainly haven\'t made many friends over the years. What a shame he is know more known for his por behaviour than his talent |

This review is pretty much spot on ! I mean honestly there was at least a 10 min break inbetween each song (God knows why) I didn't pay $170 to listen to axel for 30 min all together. In my oppinion he just looked like a used up musician trying to make a come back with a band that didnt quite fit in with him. We left for home felling completely let down ! |

The concert i went to Axel came on fifteen minutes after his allocated time, Big fucking deal, he is a rock legend! and they played none stop without any breaks from 10:45pm till around 2:30am. Perhaps if you had of cheered for Gunna's a little more and showed them the respect that they deserve then you in return would have received an outstanding performance to never be forgotten!  |

I never thought I'd actually pay to see a train wreck, but on the 23rd of June that is exactly what I did. Rose tattoo were fun, though not really my "thing", and Sebastian did rock, but unfortunately the value for money stopped there. As Axel came on my excitement soon turned to a dull cringe as I heard him struggle to hit correct pitch. Obviously the sound guys could hear this too, because they turned his vocals down to the point where you could barely hear him on numerous occasions. The backup musicians were great talents, but I paid to see Axel, not to see them have a wank with their guitars, which is essentially what most of the concert was comprised of. When ever the crowd started to pick up and a vibe actually did start to grow, Axel would walk off stage leaving everyone to drop down back to a murmur of sound. I have to say by the end of the concert I felt truly sick and thought that the end confetti blowing over the crowd was a good symbolism for what I had just witnessed Axel do with my, and my friends money.
Two thumbs down to a concert i was obtuse enough to buy front seats for. |

Every true GnR fan knows that the Brisbane show was amazing, as far as the band performance goes, the crowd however was the biggest bunch of prudes i have ever encountered. It said 'LATE NIGHT ROCK SHOW' on the funcking ticket YOU bought. They announced when every act was going to come on, so whats the problem with sitting in the bar having a drink for an extra hour with your friends???? I felt so disappointed that hardly anyone was giving their support, no wonder they weren't giving it all they had, if no one was going to appreciate it. I was screaming as hard as I could, as I wanted them to hear that there was someone out there who was a true fan and who was supporting them. The real tip of the iceberg was when I got told to SIT DOWN by the person behind me!! I couldn't believe it. I have come to the conclusion that Australians are idiots... (I'm from London) and if you want a real rock show, see Gunbs n Roses in the UK as I did last year.... |

I was in the moshpit and a lady started abusing my boyfriend for "pushing in" and having his back to her face! Hello we all payed the same money and it is a fucking moshpit expect to get squashed and pushed or don't buy tickets in that area! I havwe always been a huge fan of Axl. Despite all these years waiting I never stopped playing my gunners cds and even paid $70 for a shirt for my two year old when people were saying \"old news.\" I couldn\'t wait for the concert, and I didn\'t think anything would change my love for Axl. Unfortunately I do have to agree the Axl seemingly had issues and wasn\'t happy (seemingly didn\'t want to be there). He does come across totally full of himself. I wasn\'t previously interested in Baz but I can say that he made the show. He played like Axl Should have. I am proud to say that I was front row for Sebastian Bach. My obsession with Axl dies that night. His band were great but Axl isn\'t W.Axl Rose anymore, he is just a rusty old axl. If sebastian didn\'t carry that show I think people would be suing. I never thought I\'d say that. |

Okay, I was at both shows in Melbourne, I and haveto say that BOTH shows fucken rocked!! Sadly, people will always be quick to judge and critisize such amazing musicians, rock stars and the rich and famous, but, Axl's voice sounded better than ever considering its been almost 20 years since the making of appetite! Wat do u expect, his voice will never be the same as it was wen he was 18 and his balls just dropped! But, as i said, he and his voice have aged and it has changed, to say that it is exactly the same is a lie, but there is no other word to describe him or his voice after all that as happened as no further away from AMAZING!! Both shows kicked ass, SEBASTIAN BACH KICKED ASS, AXL ROSE KICKED ASS< and if u were a true metal fan u would have waited a lifetime to see AXL ROSE come out on stage after the last time Gunners toured in 93! Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and IM GLAD u had the balls to admit that SEBASTIAN BACH is a true fucking rock star, amazing performer, and better than all! I went to the Sydney show. $170 to see some stupid tribute band. It was complete crap. The band only went to shit when Axl wanted to change their style. Axl broke Guns n' Roses up. They used toput on a rocking show but now? well Axl cant sing for shit and hes the only original. We need Slash, Izzy and Duff back. By the way Guns n' Roses is my favorite band and on that night i was really dissapointed. they sucked dick. |
