Sincerely delivered, ironically forgettable power-pop A Year To Remember are a four-piece power-pop band from Brisbane. First track Tastefully Tricky plays the quiet-loud card well to begin with, but Bryce Schneider’s words are a tad too convoluted: he hurriedly delivers the lyrics You’re tastefully tricky / So incredibly typical it’s old in an unnatural manner. The ascending chord progression in Bombs is a knock-off of Bloc Party’s Banquet, but since AYTR currently haven’t got a hope of matching their songwriting or musical talent, they’re dismissed with a warning. If this band was formed primarily to get laid, there’s no doubt that they’ll succeed, as this release unashamedly screams “power-pop geared toward girls”. Which is fine for the guys in the band, since girls will be too busy dancing and undressing the band members with their eyes to notice crap lyrics like Flashing lights / Drink this down / This place is so crazy. This CD is terrible and lacks any depth whatsoever. Sure, it's meant to be poppy fun, but I've definitely heard better. Notice how I spelled definitely Roxy?
