DEFROSTING THE FALL - Autumn Sun Launch Debut E.P PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 13 September 2007

Its not often that two people walk in to a freezer and come out deciding to form a band, but that’s just what happened in 2006 when Jana Penshorn and Terry Hesketh of Sunshine Coast’s Autumn Sun met in the cold room at their former workplace. The pair had both been searching for musos with a common plan to create their smooth blend of styles but with no luck so they‘d settled on the idea that they were destined to remain solo acts. But after a few months of jamming out their mellow acoustic sounds, Autumn Sun knew it was out of the freezer and into the recording studio to create their debut self titled e.p. The result is half an hour of emotional, evocative and raw sound blending intricate and gutsy guitar with vulnerable poetry and velvet vocals.

So to warm up their first release, Autumn Sun are having a double launch party with shows in both Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast. Brisbane gets the first bite on Thursday 27th September at the newly renovated Rosie’s on Edward St, Brisbane. The gig will kick off at 8.30pm with a $5 cover charge and will be supported by DTM and Maxine McCabe.

The Sunshine Coast show will be held on Friday 28th September at the cosy Upfront Club on Maple St, Maleny. It will kick off at 7pm and it’s a freebie, no cover charge. Supported by Heath Skerman.

Is good album artwork/packaging a factor in you deciding whether to buy a CD or just a download?
