Don’t underestimate their power...

Bearsuit are kind of like Arcade Fire, if they were from the UK, influenced by post-punk and had a big hard-on for The Flaming Lips. Their hyperactive call and response indie rock is fleshed out considerably by the band’s six guys and girls, adding a grandiose quality to otherwise whimsical tracks like Steven Fucking Spielberg and Dinosaur Heart. Present are all things great about indie rock these days: angular guitars, stilted drums, micro-tonal (slightly off key) vocals and seemingly every other instrument they could get their grubby paws on. The result is 12 tracks that are over in under 30 minutes, but manage to deal with so many ideas you feel as though you’d travelled around the world a bunch of times. Foxy Boxer seems a band manifesto, with minimalist drums, an abundance of synth sounds and a heavily compressed guitar wailing away in the background. Don’t underestimate the power of a punch from a foxy boxer.
