nightillion.. study tours, recording galore With singer Mariel Hopper on a bus somewhere in WA learning the ins and outs of independent touring with perth roots pioneer Toby, the rhythm section needed to keep busy to stay out of trouble. Having gigged solidly for 2 years and recently jumping on with local booking agents Australian Music Management, this one month break has given nightillion a chance to recharge before a busy summer. The trio had entered the studio to begin an EP, prior to the one month hiatus, and hope to have it completed by Christmas. nightillion are stretching the standard format of an ep to include 9 songs because they simply could not cut it down further. Suggestions that an album won't be too far behind abound with whispers about nightillion talking to WAMI award-winning producer Hamtone from the Violent Femmes and the Horns of Dilema and may just happen to do some work with him when he arrives in Brisbane next Feb. They return to their natural “nightwaker” state from Nov 1st support those saucy lasses Hot Liquid Sex @ Ric's. Then its on to the Pavilion, West End, on Nov 16th for what will be “Mars' Birthday Bash” with support from The Downey Suspects and Maverick. nightillion are also extremely excited to be a part off 4zzzFM's birthday bash taking place @ the Jubilee on December 8th. Be sure to catch one of these gigs if your in the mood for some toe-tapping, soul-smiling jazz inspired roots.
