Is Missy the sister? Recently there have been a lot female artists who sound like post-coital pixies singing songs to preschoolers. It’s not that I can’t stand Kate Miller-Heidke and associates, it’s more so I’m wondering who kidnapped the women and left us with all these suckling children? Regardless, there are still a few women writing music and one of them deserving your attention is Bridget Pross. Her single Little sister is a well thought out song whereby instruments smoothly grow and flourish around Pross’ smoky soulful voice. Her most striking moment though is when the anthem erupts into an impetuous momentum filled chorus of country. The emotion and passion in Pross’ voice is even more evident in the live track Better Than You. The talkative crowd only accenting the beautifully solitary world Pross is able to create with her music. It’s a fine indication of things to come (and apologies to all fairytale-based creatures).
