Saturday night sees indie-alternative club night Monster Joe’s celebrate its 1st Birthday, with a whole-venue party at its new home, the Step Inn. There’s six DJs, with upstairs featuring indie-alt hits, downstairs presenting Guilty Pleasures trash & treasure tunes, free fairy floss and a BBQ and ‘barcade’, incorporating Guitar Hero 3, SNES, N64 and classic tabletops games. It’s also the launch of the first Monster Joe’s-published book – Yearbook Vol 1 – a 12-month project from the folks at www.penylane.com, collecting snapshots from the realm of Brisbane nightlife and music.
