Everyone interprets big book of art+lyrics... well.

“I didn’t make a record. I couldn’t be bothered making a record. It would have been too difficult. It was easier not to make a record,” writes David Shrigley about his LP-sized book of song lyrics, originally released two years ago. The now-released double album follows from a collaboration with Tomlab. The record label assembled a 39 different artists to contribute exclusive tracks based on Shrigley’s poems from the book. The line-up includes Grizzly Bear, Yacht, Deerhoof, TV On The Radio, Franz Ferdinand, Liars, Trans Am, Scout Niblett, Final Fantasy, Hot Chip, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone and Les Georges Leningrad, making for a diverse range of interpretations. The clever production and common theme of the author’s quirky insights into everyday life allow the record to flow without jarring too much, and makes this album perfect for those who like to mix art and music.

Is good album artwork/packaging a factor in you deciding whether to buy a CD or just a download?
