Tijuana Cartel set the pace with this vigorously spirited compilation of exotic beats and outlandish flamenco. Gold Coast’s own dynamic duo, Paul George and Carey O’Sullivan – from their commended Audio Shaman project – team up with percussionist Daniel Gonzale and MC/DJ Regan Hoskins to create a tantalizing foreign affair. Dominated by fierce flamenco and colourful slide guitar riffs, Frequent Flyers-Redeemed is unlike anything you’ve heard. The first track Kanned Arabs is captivating with its enchanting gypsy-like rhythm and chants. Bringing the album back to native territory for a split second, Sounds Of Then is the group’s cover of the Gangajang classic. All 12-tracks have a pumping bass so in-your-face, it rivals that of Fedde le Grand, but with the wholesomeness of profoundly poetic social commentary. Get ready for the trip of a lifetime.
