(Hopeless/Sub City/Shock)

One family size with the lot coming right up!

In a world of genre-bending heavy music it has become nigh on impossible to pigeonhole a band’s sound. Change! embraces this fact with gusto and throws together twenty-five bands whose similarities start and end with a distortion pedal. From the poppier end of the spectrum, Silverstein, Chiodos and Alesana make early appearances followed on by metal-core heavyweights As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive and August Burns Red. For a little dirty rock, Change! also features tracks from Every Time I Die and Gallows, and at the tech end of things, some phenomenal noodling from The Fall of Troy, The Human Abstract, See You Next Tuesday and Converge. While this may seem like an excessive amalgamation of strange bedfellows, it is the juxtaposition of these sometimes vastly different bands that allows each track to shine on their own merit. In addition to this quality compilation is a DVD featuring many of the same bands along with a few more gems, all encased in some of the coolest packaging seen in a while. You really can’t go wrong with octopuses, can you?
