It’s a big call…

Hailing from New Jersey, The Gaslight Anthem play a heartfelt mix of punk, folk, blues and rock & roll which slowly but surely creeps through your eardrums and into your soul. Boasting a gruff voice which effortlessly moves from gravely choruses into crooning verses, vocalist Ben Fallon spins love stories from the East-Coast and relatable nostalgia into hauntingly beautiful songs filled with emotion and energy in such an easy manner it should be criminal. Coupled with this ability, The Gaslight Anthem write music that runs the gamut from Bruce Springsteen to Hot Water Music to Alkaline Trio to Against Me, or in other words, some of the best licks and riffs seen for years. Put simply, whilst it’s still early in the year, Sink Or Swim has the potential to be the best album of 2008 and is sure to touch the hearts of many.
