A flattering moment for Arctic Monkeys Harrisons’ are a Sheffield four-piece playing music within the genre currently dominated by Arctic Monkeys. Impressively, the band nearly captured the complete style and essence of Arctic Monkeys – from dance-orientated choruses, to jangly guitars and the once endearing northern English accent. Admittedly, the band probably didn’t set out to purposely replicate Arctic Monkeys, nor is it the band’s fault they have English accents. The music actually isn’t terrible nor sub-par, in fact songs such as Man Of The Hour and Dear Constable are songs of a quality far exceeding most bands. It’s just that it’s all getting a little generic, from the baritone new-wave-esque vocals, to the catch-phrase lyrics and the overdone dance beat. Had this album been released a few years earlier then perhaps it could have been a tremendous success. That is, had it pre-dated all the other British dance orientated indie bands – from Arctic Monkeys to Bloc Party. DAVID FANNON
