TRANSPORT REUNITE TO LAUNCH DEBUT ALBUM
Brisbane based 3 piece Transport will play their first gig on Australian shores in nearly a year to release their debut album “The Inner Chimp”. After an exhausting US and UK tour culminated in a lengthy separation, the members of Transport will be reunited to play shows on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.
The Inner Chimp features single “The People Have Spoken” featured in the Hollywood blockbuster “Sydney White”. It also has the Triple J breakout single “Sunday Driver”. Recently Russia’s billboard magazine featured the band, describing them as “happy go lucky American-indie Australian rock”.
Last year saw Transport smashing the UK based Kerrang! Radio charts, coming out ahead of big label acts such as Pearl Jam and Oasis.
“We had an amazing response overseas last year with the new material, and we’re really looking forward to getting together and playing at home again”, said Steve Pope, Transport’s drummer.
Singer/guitarist of Transport Keir Nuttall said of the choice of venue for the event, The Step Inn represents Brisbane’s resurgence of original music, in that it used to be a bar with topless waitresses and now it’s turned into a live music venue, instead of the other way round.”
Two members of Transport play with Brisbane pop phenomenon Kate Miller-Heidke. Transport’s singer-guitarist Keir Nuttall wrote Miller-Heidke’s song “Words” which was performed at last years ARIA awards and nominated for Best Pop Single.
Transport’s line-up will be extended to include additional guitarist, Nathan Moore, from Brisbane alt-country rockers The Horse You Rode In On.
The band will be joined for both shows by Melbourne future rockers “The Rex Wicked”. Also playing at the Step Inn with be “Rogerthat “(Gold Coast) and “New Manic Spree” (Brisbane).
