Fun with two Hard Ons and one Mink Jaguar

Nunchukka Superfly members are made up of two Hard Ons and one Mink Jaguar. Although the influence of the Hard Ons can be heard throughout the album, this is certainly a release much farther left of centre. Ray, Peter and Joel, who unite to give birth to If Ya Not Careful With Electricity It Will Kill Ya, are probably quite proud of the product of only four days spent in the studio. It intimidates from the first foot, genres are blended, lost and introduced throughout the album. The only constant is the cheeky grins with which they play those techy hair metal riffs. They jauntily swagger through many guitar-based genres, from glamed-up, raw, post-rock rhythms through Tonight We Are Protected By Wolves, to the hilarious Mighty Boosh-style intro on The Suicide Notes Of Tom Scholz. On weaker tracks such as Postcards they teeter much closer to the style of the Hard Ons, with high pitched vocals and a distinctly less metal feel, exemplified by weaker rhythms and bass. Listening to this album you can hear how much fun they are having, they are playing music and grinning, attempting to leave us doing the same, while adorning our ears with psychedelic, punk, noise, jazz metal that your grandad could rock to.
