Some hot news from Queensland (Australia) based award winning songwriter John Harley Weston.......
MASTER CD LOST IN POST:
Yes, well it seems that Australia Post have lost John Harley Weston’s new album master disc. (It only took John 2 years to make). The master disc was posted ’registered post’ at the beginning of March to Sony (Sydney) for CD duplication - along with the final artwork and all the necessary legal documents.....never to be seen again.
Luckily, Sony is the company that did the final master CD itself so they are preparing another disc as we speak and next week the album will finally be getting pressed. Big thanks to all at Sony, Sydney and a big raspberry to Australia Post for passing us around their labyrinth of ’we don’t know’ staff for a week. No doubt we’ll receive the original package in my mail box in 2 months.....now that’s service.
Wow! I just got a phone call.......the package has been found and is now making it’s way across Sydney by courier........miracles can happen.....or maybe it’s the threat of a myspace blog.
ALBUM LAUNCH DETAILS:
The new album is called ‘Welcome Back To Reality’.

Cancer Council Queensland's 'Relay For Life' fundraising benefit event
Gold Coast Arts Centre lake area, Bundall, Gold Coast
Event starts at 3pm (1500 to 2000 people expected)
John Harley Weston performing for 45 mins from approx 7:30pm
John had been planning the ‘usual’ album launch in a dark room somewhere in the Valley when he was approached by the Cancer Council to release his album at their event and become involved in helping to raise awareness of ‘Relay For Life’ a worldwide event. Being able to play for free and give 20% of CD sales on the day to the charity will make the whole process of releasing a new album more purposeful.
It’s actually a weekend event. People can camp overnight - so whether you can spare an hour, a day or the whole weekend, come and support a great cause.....on your own or register a ‘team’ and do the relay walk in the afternoon then enjoy the show and candlelight ceremony. We’re expecting around 2000 people. Why not be one of them.
