Hiding in every town and china-shop
In a world where EPs are a dime-a-dozen and metal bands are even more numerous, it takes a special kind of offering to catch the ears of the public. Saying that, local act Brazen Bull really aren’t your average metal band and their debut EP is even further from the norm. First thing to be noted is the quality of the recording, which is of a standard many ‘made’ bands dreamed of ten years ago and which some still search for. Musically, these self-confessed extremists run full tilt around a triangular tight rope strung between new age death-metal brutal enough to put the Black Dahlia Murder et al in their place, tech-metal which could possibly be described as A Secret Death on meth and that special brand of spasticity employed by Japanese odd-balls Melt Banana. For a quartet with only a few shows under their belt, this is one to try to get your hands on for your yearly dose of metal in one fell swoop.
