MR RASCAL UNLEASH A POCKETFUL OF SMOKE AT QPAC PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 27 May 2008

It's not every day that a local band plays in one of the city's finest theatres. Brisbane musical collective Mr Rascal however is not your average local band. To celebrate the release of their debut independently-released album 'A Pocketful of Smoke' the troupe will gather at the Cremorne Theatre at QPAC on Friday the 11th of July to present a show as ambitious as the making of the album itself.

9 months in the making, 'A Pocketful of Smoke' features the diverse musical talents of over a dozen of Brisbane's most talented musicians. The launch event will bring together the core Mr Rascal band (of guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals) with a number of special guests (including a brass section, strings, opera singers and a tabala player.

Organisers Martin McDonald and Christian Duell describe the event as "an opportunity to bring together a bunch of local creative people from different backgrounds to celebrate what can be achieved through independent collaboration and word-of-mouth."

Mr Rascal will be joined on the night by special guests the Granite Lakes and Carry Nation.

Tickets to the Mr Rascal 'A Pocketful of Smoke' album launch will be on sale from Wednesday the 28th of May, 2008 from www.qtix.com.au. The debut Mr Rascal album 'A Pocketful of Smoke' will be released on Monday the 7th of July 2008. For more information on Mr Rascal visit www.myspace.com/misterrascal or www.misterrascal.com.
