The Ultimate Transition: Ultimately seamless. Ultimately progressive.
Any who have listened to the three Transitions releases to date will acknowledge the intricacy and attention to detail they encompass. And now we have T4. With an awe-inspiring 22 tracks, Diggers has produced his most intense and intrinsic mix yet – no mean feat given the pedigree of its predecessors.
In comparison, the journey is deeper, darker and more fundamentally bass-driven. Gone are the synth sounds and melodic undertones; the focus is now on percussion. The dense layering makes it so difficult to pin point tracks that it is, at times, hard to ascertain the points where a track is not being mixed. This is not a criticism. To combat the complexity, Diggers has re-structured the trackmark points to clearly dissect the more intricate transitions, and so it is that 22 tracks become ten. "In trackmarking this way I am able to highlight the unique qualities of the mix. Whilst it hopefully retains that signature Digweed sound, I've used modern production techniques to create an album that's unlike anything you'll ever hear me do in a club." Highlights include debutant Myers Briggs' Forever, Jamie Stevens' Keep Her Space (Smith & Selway's Control Mix), and Pig & Dan's Dreams of Bells.
As always, the track selection is polished to perfection and the mixing is seamless. This really is progressive mixing in the truest sense of the word. Very impressive.
