See Brisbane’s hottest graphic designers battle it out in a wild live design event - The BAD Nextbyte Designer Fight Club. Stage fright will not be an option for the 12 designers chosen from the crowd. In three heats, four at a time, they’ll have to answer a design brief inside a very punishing twenty-five minute deadline. Their desktops, and working practice, will be projected for all to see on to big screens. The designers will have an arsenal of weapons at their disposal including latest design software and technology from Next Byte and a cache of stock images and textures. First prize is an Adobe CS3 Suite and a Wacom Graphics Tablet courtesy of Next Byte. And, while they’re fighting their way to the top (and some wicked prizes from Next Byte), the audience will be lapping up the action, a few beverages and some funky beats. This would be an ideal event to attend if you were a student looking to flex some creative muscle or you were simply interested in the creative process. Two BAD Nextbyte Designer Fight Club events will take place at the Zoo in The Valley. The first will be the Student Edition (you must be over 18) held on Thursday the 19th of June. The second will be the Professional Edition held on Thursday the 20th of July. Both events start at 7.00 pm. Registration from 6.30 pm. The top designer from the student battle will receive wildcard entry into the semi finals of the professional battle. Entry $10 for students and BAD Club Members. Drinks at normal Zoo prices. Tighten up your black jeans, iron your Yasser Arafat scarf, slip on your black kung-fu shoes and get ready to rumble. For more information contact Davros at BigFish on 0422 758 141.
