OZMUSIC EVENTS PRESENTS: MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL Jubilee Hotel, Fortitude Valley - June 28, 2008
Massive Sounds Festival on June 28 at the Jubilee Hotel in Fortitude Valley is set to be a huge show, according to event organisers Shane Downey and Rebecca McCall.
“We are geared up for a fantastic day and while tickets are still available, they are selling fast,” said Ms McCall.
“The massive line-up of bands and acts is guaranteed to satisfy any music lover’s tastes,” she said.
“With everything from Hip Hop, Funk and Lounge Hop, to Jazz and Blues, Gypsy Swing and Acoustic Pop Turbo Folk, the four stages are packed solid with some of Brisbane’s finest bands and artists.
The two main stages will be predominantly rock bands, but there will be other blends thrown in to keep everyone happy.”
Headlining for Massive Sounds Festival is local “Super Group” Final Days of Autumn, featuring Clint Boge (from The Butterfly Effect), Jono Bolt and Tony McCall, (of hip hop hard hitters Resin Dogs), and Joal Pascoe and Dan Alder (from equally acclaimed local rockers Shifter).
Feature act and Sydney band Stone Parade hit the big time in late May by debuting into the ARIA music charts at number 17 with their single “My Generation”. They also hold the Number 1 spot on the AIR Independent Charts.
Highly acclaimed 5-time ARIA nominee Diana Anaid also features on the Festival line-up, showcasing new songs with her band from her upcoming album, to be recorded in the USA later this year.
Possibly one of the most talked about performances of the festival is for local newbies J-Pan Fan, featuring ever popular front woman Emma Carton, Jonny Ryan, Rob Crook and Pete Heywood. One of the newest bands on the Brisbane music scene, J-Pan Fan have already impressed the right people scoring some great gigs around town.
